Muscat is humid and sits on salt air; an hour inland at Nizwa the heat is dry; up on Jebel Akhdar it is cool enough to need a jacket. A pack driven over one weekend can see all three, and each of them stresses a different part of it.
For the Chery that matters, because it is sold widely here, and the electric versions are newer than the service network around them. We handle high-voltage battery servicing and control-module programming in Muscat, and test the pack against all three conditions rather than the one the car happens to be parked in. BYD is searched for in Oman more than any other car, electric or not — by a distance, and more than Tesla. What arrives at the workshop matches that: more Atto 3s, Seals and Song Plus than everything else combined.
