The climb to Jebel Shams asks more of a battery's cooling than anything on flat ground does, and the descent runs almost entirely on regeneration. That is easier on the brakes than it sounds — so much easier that the discs corrode from disuse rather than wear out, which is a fault we look for here specifically.
The BYD ATTO 3 is the car that put BYD on Omani roads, and the pack we have opened most often. We cover Blade LFP packs repaired at cell level rather than swapped, plus the cooling work a long drive inland demands in Muscat, and tell you plainly when nothing needs doing.
